Legendary Kentucky Civic, Business, and Political Leader Joins Growing List of Barr Supporters
Lexington, KY – Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY), a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate announced the endorsement of legendary civic, business, and political leader Jim Host. Host, a native of Ashland, is the founder of Host Communications and has been at the forefront of numerous Kentucky projects including the establishment of the Kentucky Horse Park, the building of the Lexington Civic Center, Rupp Arena, and the KFC Yum! Center, as well as serving as the chairman of the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington.
Host is also renowned in the world of athletics, having played baseball for the University of Kentucky and in the Chicago White Sox farm system. In business, he is credited with implementing the first collegiate corporate marketing program. And among many other accolades, he has been recognized by the Kentucky Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
