Former UK swimmer and best selling author joins growing list of major backers supporting Barr’s campaign.
Lexington, KY – Today, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY) announced the endorsement of women’s sports advocate, podcaster, and best-selling author, Riley Gaines. As a student-athlete at the University of Kentucky, Gaines was forced to compete against, and even share a locker room with, a biological male while participating in NCAA women’s swimming events. Since that time she has been an outspoken and effective advocate for the sanctity of women’s sports.
“Andy Barr gets it. As a father of two girls, he has fought nonstop to protect girls’ sports, and defend us against the assault from lunatic leftists who can’t even define what a woman is,” said Riley Gaines. “Andy had my back in the fight against the NCAA, and he will have the back of hardworking Kentuckians the same way, every day. Andy Barr will be a fantastic Senator – he has my complete endorsement!”
“When the woke mob told Riley Gaines to sit down and be quiet, she spoke up and fought back,” said Andy Barr. “My daughters, and girls across the country, are benefiting from Riley’s advocacy which is not only saving sports for women and girls, but also restoring common sense to our country. I’m proud to have her support for our campaign.”
