Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle Endorses Barr for Senate

Berea, Kentucky—Today, Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle endorsed Andy Barr to be the next Senator from Kentucky.

“No one has stood stronger with Kentucky’s law enforcement officers than Andy Barr,” said Sheriff Coyle. “When our deputies needed backup in the fight against drug traffickers and violent crime, Andy Barr didn’t just talk — he delivered. He fought for federal resources, modern equipment, and the tools we need to protect our communities. Andy Barr has been our champion, and I know he’ll take that same fight to the U.S. Senate.”

“Sheriff Mike Coyle is one of the most respected law enforcement leaders in the Commonwealth,” said Barr. “His lifetime of service has made Madison County safer and stronger, and I’m proud to have his support. As Senator, I will never stop backing the blue, standing up for our deputies, and ensuring law enforcement has the resources they need to keep Kentucky families safe.”

Barr and Sheriff Coyle have worked closely to combat the drug epidemic threatening Madison County. Their efforts helped secure a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) designation for the region — unlocking additional federal resources, intelligence sharing, and coordination with state and federal law enforcement to shut down drug trafficking networks before they reach Kentucky communities.
