Leslie County Sheriff Billy Michael Collett Endorses Andy Barr for Senate

Hyden, Kentucky—Today, Leslie County Sheriff Billy Michael Collett announced his endorsement of Andy Barr to be Kentucky’s next U.S. Senator. The endorsement comes on the heels of Barr’s “Law Enforcement for Barr” coalition launch. Barr is endorsed by the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition, the only law enforcement organization to endorse in the U.S. Senate campaign to date.

“Leslie County needs a strong voice in the Senate, and Andy Barr has proven he can be that leader,” said Sheriff Collett. “He’s been a reliable and steadfast supporter of law enforcement, and I fully back his campaign.”

“Sheriff Collett is doing a great job for Leslie County,” said Barr. “Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to keep our families safe, and I will always stand with them and make sure they have the resources and support they need to do their jobs. I’m honored to have Sheriff Collett’s endorsement.”

Sheriff Collett was first took office as Leslie County Sheriff in 2019. He is a longstanding member of the law enforcement community with experience dating back to the early 2000s, including the Kentucky Department of Corrections and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife. He is a graduate from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Police Administration. Barr has over 160 major endorsements in the U.S. Senate race, including the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition, the only law enforcement organization to endorse in the race.
