Bowling Green, KY—Today, Brett Guthrie, Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, endorsed Congressman Andy Barr to be the next United States Senator from Kentucky, citing Barr’s proven record of fighting alongside President Trump and delivering results for the Commonwealth.
“I’m proud to support my friend Andy Barr for the US Senate,” said Chairman Guthrie. “I’ve worked closely with President Trump on a number of issues, and his judgment that Andy Barr is best suited to support that agenda in the Senate is, in my opinion, sound and wise. I’ll be casting my ballot in the May primary for Andy Barr, and I encourage others to do the same.”
“I’m honored to earn Chairman Guthrie’s endorsement,” said Congressman Barr. “From his service at West Point to his leadership as Chairman of Energy and Commerce, Brett Guthrie has always put the Kentucky and America First. Together, we will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump to secure our border, grow our economy, and deliver real results for South-Central Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and the entire Commonwealth.”
Chairman Guthrie was first elected to Congress in 2008 and became Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee in 2025. He represents Kentucky’s Second Congressional District, which includes Bowling Green, Owensboro, and much of South Central and Western Kentucky.
Chairman Guthrie joins President Trump, Congressman Hal Rogers, and more than 115 House Republicans endorsing Andy Barr for U.S. Senate. Barr has more than 170 major endorsements in the race and leads in the recent polls.
