Kentucky’s largest law enforcement organization and sheriffs from across the Commonwealth are lining up behind Andy Barr.
LEXINGTON, KY — In case you missed it, the Kentucky State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Andy Barr for U.S. Senate, joining 47 sitting and former Kentucky sheriffs who are backing Barr in the final stretch of the race.
Scott Hildebrand, President of the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police:
“Kentucky’s law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. We need leaders who have our backs, and Andy Barr has proven time and again that he stands with the men and women who wear the badge. He’s fought to give us the tools we need to do our jobs and put criminals behind bars. We know Andy Barr will have our six in the United States Senate, and we’re proud to endorse him.”
Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue, Former President of the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association:
“As Clark County Sheriff, I’ve had no stronger ally at the federal level than Andy Barr. Together, we advocated for and received more resources at the federal level to help our Clark County Deputies fight the drug epidemic. Andy stood strong against the defund police movement and always supported our police here in Kentucky. He will make a great U.S. Senator.”
Andy Barr:
“I’m humbled to have the support of the Kentucky FOP and so many of our sheriffs. These are the men and women who run toward danger to protect our families, and I will never stop backing the blue. In the Senate, I’ll make sure Kentucky law enforcement has the resources, equipment and support they need.”
Background:
Barr authored the Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act, restoring federal death benefits for officers killed as a result of their service, signed into law by President Trump.
Barr secured HIDTA designations for Clark, Madison and Montgomery counties, unlocking federal resources to fight drug trafficking.
Barr is endorsed by the KY FOP, the National Border Patrol Council, the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition and 47 Kentucky sheriffs.
