Barr gets the first national law enforcement organization endorsement in the KY Senate Race
Lexington, KY—Today, the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition endorsed Andy Barr to be the next U.S. Senator from Kentucky. The Police Officers’ Defense Coalition works to defeat elected officials who unjustly push to prosecute police instead of working with them to defend our communities.
“Andy Barr is relentless in his support for police. He defended us against the Defund Police Movement. He championed the Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act to expand death benefits to the families of fallen officers. Andy will make a great U.S. Senator, and he has our total endorsement,” said Bert Eyler, President of the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition.
“I’m so honored to have the endorsement of the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition,” said Barr. “We worked together on the Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act, and I know that our work together can be taken to the next level when I’m in the U.S. Senate. God bless our men and women in law enforcement!”
The Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act, named for the retired police chief of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, was signed into law by President Donald Trump in December. The law amends the Public Safety Officers’ Benefit (PSOB) program to extend benefits to the families of retired or separated officers killed or disabled due to their service. Barr has over 160 major endorsements in the U.S. Senate race, more than all of his opponents combined.
