Kentucky Senate Race Update

The Q3 reports are in for the Kentucky Senate Candidates, and the numbers are embarrassing for Daniel Cameron, showing he has no resources to stop his slide in the polls or defend this seat in the general. Daniel started at 51% in the polls earlier this year but has dropped 9 points and will continue to do so.  Meanwhile, Andy Barr gained momentum, increasing his ballot from 19% to 25% — and, importantly, is well resourced to continue to grow his ballot.

Andy Barr for Senate

Raised: $1,820,728.84

COH: $6,686,807.63

Daniel Cameron for Senate

Raised: $411,224.12

COH: $629,748.43

Those numbers are not a typo, Andy Barr has 10x the cash-on-hand as Daniel Cameron. Daniel’s numbers are more in line with a Congressional race, not a US Senate race.

There is a third candidate in the race, Nate Morris, who raised $1 million, loaned himself $3 million, lit it on fire, and now only has $1 million on hand.  Morris’ campaign is no longer on TV, his ballot is stuck, and his image is under water – Morris is a non-factor in this race and polling shows that is unlikely to change.

Conclusion: The Kentucky Senate Race is a two-man race between Andy Barr and Daniel Cameron. Nate Morris’ campaign is dead – dead broke and dead last. Andy Barr has 10x the cash-on-hand as Daniel Cameron, a failed statewide candidate who doesn’t have the money to win a Congressional race, let alone a Senate Race. Andy Barr will be the next United States Senator from Kentucky.
