LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – On the latest edition of Kentucky Newsmakers, WKYT’s Bill Bryant talks with Congressman Andy Barr from Kentucky’s sixth district. Watch HERE.
Barr is running for the U.S. Senate during a very divided time in our nation. Election results and polling show that.
That’s the landscape as Congressman Barr reaches outside his district for the first time for votes and support.
Immigration, the federal budget, healthcare, tariff policies and substance abuse issues are among the mix of issues out there.
Barr was first elected to the House in 2012.
However, now Senator Mitch McConnell’s impending retirement is opening that seat for the first time since 1984.
