Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson Endorses Andy Barr for U.S. Senate

Manchester, Kentucky — Today, Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson announced his endorsement of Andy Barr (R-KY) for the United States Senate.

“Andy Barr has been a true champion of law enforcement throughout his career,” said Sheriff Robinson. “He understands that our officers put their lives on the line every day, and he has consistently stood up for their safety, their rights, and their families. Andy’s leadership on the Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act ensured that the families of law enforcement officers receive the benefits they’ve earned, whether an officer is active, separated, or retired from service. He will be a great U.S. Senator.”

“Sheriff Robinson is a respected leader who knows what it takes to protect our communities and support those who serve,” said Barr. “I’m honored to have his endorsement. As Senator, I’ll continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with law enforcement officers and their families — defending their interests, protecting their benefits, and ensuring they have the resources they need to keep our neighborhoods safe.”

The Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act, named for the retired police chief of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, was signed into law by President Donald Trump last month. The law amends the Public Safety Officers’ Benefit (PSOB) program to extend benefits to the families of retired or separated officers killed or disabled due to their service.
