Providence, Kentucky—Today, Kentucky State Representative Jim Gooch Jr. (R-HD-12) endorsed Andy Barr for U.S. Senate.
“I’m endorsing Andy Barr because he’s the coal candidate,” said Rep. Gooch, Chairman of the Natural Resources and Energy Committee. “Andy will work with President Trump to put our miners back to work, see our energy industry boom, and prices go down for our communities. He will be a great U.S. Senator.”
“Chairman Gooch will be an incredible partner at the state level to revitalize our coal industry in Kentucky,” said Barr. “Together, we will make Kentucky the centerpiece of America’s energy dominance and create jobs for hardworking Kentuckians all over the Commonwealth. I’m honored to have Chairman Gooch’s endorsement and look forward to working with him when I’m in the U.S. Senate.”
Chairman Gooch was elected to the Kentucky State House in 1994. He represents Crittenden, McLean, Union, and Webster Counties in the State House. He was the former Mayor and a city councilman in Providence, Kentucky. He also currently works as an insurance agent.
